Eventually, Gal Gadot was chosen to play the heavily sought after role and in 2017, Wonder Woman was finally given a major film to her name. Much like Gal Gadot’s performance, the film itself opened to rave reviews. While it seems like everybody’s happy with Gal Gadot’s pitch perfect performance, it’s hard not to look at other rumored names and wonder “What if?” What if there was a better choice out there? Then again, on the other hand, looking at some of these rumored names, we could have gotten a lot worse than Gadot.

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Plagued by visions of Ragnarok -- that is, the death of the gods and the end of Asgard -- Thor (Chris Hemsworth) moves to avert the long-foretold disaster in THOR: RAGNAROK. After suffering a terrible personal loss, the son of Odin discovers life-changing truths about Asgard, his family, and the true threat. He finds he must escape captivity and recruit friends both new (Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie) and old (Mark Ruffalo as Hulk) for an epic confrontation against the most powerful forces he's ever faced (namely, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Goddess of Death).

FLASH FORWARD

The Black Widow actually trained with the Winter Soldier as far back as the 1950s—she joined her fellow Russian operatives to retrain Bucky Barnes as an agent of the Soviet Union. The two began a brief romance, but the Russians had lingering worries about Bucky’s programming, so they decided to freeze him and thaw him out only when necessary.

After regaining his memories thanks to Captain America and the power of a Cosmic Cube, Bucky also managed to recall his time with Natasha. The heroes restarted their relationship, but the star-crossed lovers were foiled once again when a Russian sleeper agent brainwashed Black Widow, clearing her mind of her relationship with Barnes in the process.
